So we know that Sushi is of Japanese origin and consists of cooked vinegared rice combined with other ingredients and it’s a craze that has swept the nation, everyone tucks into this yummy snack or meal!
Also, it’s a fairly healthy and nutritious meal, even though rice is a carbohydrate, it’s a natural one, so it digests better and doesn’t make you feel uncomfortable in your pants!
Being a chef, I’ve been lucky enough to have been exposed to really amazing sushi chefs and also very mediocre ones, and I am a major snob as to what/whose sushi I put into my mouth – as one should be.
The best idea is to invest in a rice cooker, you can pick one up at your local Chinese shop or China town, they are reasonably priced and won’t break the budget. Get on of those “beginner” packs and get going!!!! Invite the friends or family over and keep it simple. I find steaming up a batch of prawns or getting some salmon from your fishmonger, or even just keeping it vegetarian, makes it a fun, hands on meal!
